Terra Allen
Terra has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She & her husband Scott live in Carson City. They love spending time with their daughter Sydney, her husband Erik & their 2 boys Isaac & Lew. She looks forward to helping you with your large animal needs.
Bookkeeper
Tammy Carter
Tammy joined Sterner's in 2021. She is a graduate of MSU's Horse Management Program and completed the short course program in Equine Reproduction at CSU. Tammy is married to husband John and they have 2 daughters Ela and Jenna. Her favorite pastimes are horseback riding and spending time with family.
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Erin Smith
Erin is a licensed veterinary technician and joined SVC/Countyline in 2021. She grew up on a dairy farm and currently lives in Westphalia with her husband, Brian, 5 kids - Addisyn, Brooke, Sienna, Caleb, and Aidric, and a boxer mix, Stella. When Erin finds a free minute, she enjoys running, camping and reading.
Veterinary Technician
Madison Halfman
Madison joined the SVC staff in January of 2023. She grew up working on her family’s dairy
farm in Fowler, and enjoys both working with the cows and learning more about crop
management. In her free time, she loves gardening and the outdoors, and spending time with her family and their lab, Thor.
Veterinary Technician/Spanish Translator
Max Lopez
Max joined our team in the spring of 2023 to work primarily as an on-farm technician and provide Spanish translation services. Born and raised in Mexico, Max has lived in the United States for over 22 years and is fluently bilingual. He has worked in both Ohio and Michigan for a number of different dairies and has experience with a wide variety of management systems. For the past 7 years, Max has worked for Steenblik Dairy as the head herdsman. In his off time, Max enjoys spending time with his son, making food for other people and singing karaoke.
Veterinary Technician
Denise Young
Denise is a 1983 graduate of Wayne County Community College and joined the staff at SVC in1997. She now splits her time between SVC as an office manager and Sterner Livestock as a veterinary technician. She enjoys dog obedience trials, hunting and fishing and spending time with her husband and son.

Veterinary Technician
Michelle Cody
Michelle joined Portland Veterinary Service in January of 2004. In the fall of 2006, she moved with the large animal practice to Westphalia. Michelle joined SVC staff in August of 2019, and enjoys working with large animals. She and her husband, Jeff, have two children. They have twos dogs, Chunk and Clay, a cat, Penny, and raise cattle and sheep on their farm in Ionia. Michelle loves all animals and her favorite place is out in the barn.

Jewel
Jewel is the Sterner Livestock's residential cat. She loves to greet you from the counter as you enter the clinic. ​
